Dear visitors,
Welcome to your home, which was once a barn..
We've furnished this place as if it were our own. We hope you enjoy your stay here. Vauxaillon is a village that was completely destroyed during WW1.
The house was built in 1919. The owners were Aline and Sylvain Dautremaupuits. Mrs. Dautremaupuits is nicknamed "la centenaire" (the centenarian) because she died in 1997 at the age of 104.
In the barn, we've left a few traces of her life, such as the fountain she used to fetch her water, the sink that used to be in her kitchen, and the wheel hanging above the sofa is a piece from her wine press.
We made the chandelier from a branch of a walnut tree in the garden. We'll leave you to find out what the piece of furniture in the entrance hall might have been used for.
The animals
Please note the following points:
-Bring the necessary equipment for your pet (leash, bowl, mat/basket...);
-Make sure you remove all your pet's hair in the accommodation.
The garden is completely accessible to your pet.
You'll meet Loustic, our Jack Russel, who has a rather large sense of territory, as the garden is not enclosed.
He's been very sociable with all the animals we've taken in. He'll come to you, you can stroke him but don't carry him.
As for Caline, our cat, she's a bit of a misnomer! It's not easy to pet her!
